Final Checklist for the Mequoda Summit East 2011

Prepare yourself for the best, actionable advice for content marketing and online publishing

Earlier this week, Don Nicholas, CEO of Mequoda Group, wrote an article entitled "93+ Best Practices at Mequoda Summit East 2011".

Those 93 best practices Don alluded to will be discussed in depth throughout three and a half days of the Mequoda Summit East 2011, beginning on September 13th.

The funny thing is, those 93 best practices are only from three sessions - and nearly all of our sessions have best practice lists.

I haven't personally counted all of the best practices that will be shared from an array of successful publishers and marketers throughout the Summit, but I can imagine they will be well into the hundreds.

Can you imagine getting hundreds of pieces of information - all of which have been tested by online professionals multiple times to assess their title of "best practice" - that will help you perform your everyday job better?

If you are an editor, marketer, webmaster, publisher or CEO, the content shared at the Mequoda Summit East 2011 will directly influence your ability to do your job more effectively. And in an evolutionary industry, it's important to grasp onto tested and proven best practices. I hate to say it, but if you aren't staying current with what's working for online media businesses, you might be desperately unprepared for the future.

Here's where the Mequoda Summit East 2011 comes in...

All of the professionals gathering at the Conference Center at Waltham Woods are there to help you understand three things: 1.) What's working for their online business, 2.) What current industry trends are important to follow and 3.) How you can do your job better.

To do my part (in addition to teaching at the Summit), I wanted to make a checklist so you're fully prepared for this extensive educational event.

Mequoda Summit East 2011 checklist

-Bring a laptop computer or tablet for taking notes. The presentations themselves will be made available to attendees as well, but notes should be taken during any Q&A sessions if you want the most out of the sessions. Pen and paper will be provided if you prefer to go old-school.

-Come prepared with questions. If you take a look at the Summit's agenda, you can get an idea of the sessions you want to attend. If you have pressing questions before arriving in the Boston area, jot them down and get ready for helpful answers.

-Send in email subject lines and copy you want critiqued. Mark Everett Johnson, expert copywriter, and attendees of the Email Copywriting for Editors session will be brainstorming suggestions for improving your email copy.

-Perfect your handshake. You will be meeting plenty of new people at the Mequoda Summit East 2011. Some of which may even lead to future business partnerships. Be prepared to engage with others and share the goals of your online business.

-Familiarize yourself with more content. If you haven't already downloaded every free report of ours that can help you better understand your online business, do so now.

I personally recommend the Million Dollar Landing Page Templates free report. It was very telling to learn the traits financially successful landing pages have in common.

If you haven't signed up for the Mequoda Summit East 2011 yet, you need to register now before the opportunity passes you by. With the way the industry is changing, can you take the risk of not understanding all the current best practices?

I look forward to seeing you all at the Mequoda Summit East 2011.
